Varanasi
Varanasi is probably the holiest place for Hindus. built on the west
bank of the river Ganges, which is holy in itself, being a deity.
Varanasi is the only place where Ganges flows from the south to the
north. The city is full of Sadhus and Gurus, that is, priests and
teachers. The views are majestic, and the place does seem serene and
spiritual. The people still prefer to bathe in the holy waters of the
river Ganges. And they still perform a ceremony with offerings to the
Godess Ganges.
